About the baker

Jill Lashmit has enjoyed being in the kitchen baking as a hobby for years. In October of 2021, she took her hobby to a new level by opening an in-home bakery.

Why the name “Wednesday Surprise Bakery”? At first, she would post surprise items for sale on a Wednesday on Facebook and the treats would be available until they sold out for the day. She soon discovered that people didn’t necessarily want someone else picking what would be on the menu for the day, and they didn’t necessarily want it on a Wednesday! Even though the original idea didn’t take off, the name stuck, and she’s been taking orders since.
